Edward Lee – Executive Chairman & Director

A long time entrepreneur in private business in northern British Columbia, Mr. Lee was appointed as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Nevada Clean in December 2012.  Previously, he served as the Company’s President.  Mr. Lee served on the Boards of American Manganese, Inc. and Goldrea Resources Corp.  Previously, he was a Director and Executive Vice President for Adanac Molybdenum Corp.  With over 13 years’ experience assisting public companies in capital formation and strategic business development, Mr. Lee brings Nevada Clean invaluable strategic insight, industry expertise and proven leadership.


Sam Ataya - Chief Executive Officer & Director
Mr. Ataya has 25 years of proven record with key strengths in demonstrating "big picture" approaches toward project management that require long term strategic planning and operational management. His ability to manage multi-faceted projects through team leadership has lead him through operational turnarounds, management changes and the ability to mobilize resources to achieve the wanted results from strategic planning and analysis. Mr. Ataya is currently CEO of The Stirling Group of Vancouver, B.C., a "One Stop" consulting service focused on assisting Micro-Cap, Mid-Cap, and Large-Cap Companies in need of financial recapitalization. The Stirling Group aids companies in strengthening their business models, investment proposals and helps source capital directly from an established global funding network.

Barrie Fraser - President, Chief Operating Officer & Director

With over 20 years of experience in the area of project management, Mr. Fraser has served as a Senior Project Manager at Worley Parsons Canada and Tetra Tech WEI Inc. as well as various production based roles such as Engineering and Tooling Manager at Grenville Castings Limited and Manager of Engineering at Canarm Ltd. His career to date demonstrates a wide range of capabilities in various industries, including: industrial HVAC; light metals casting and finishing; automotive; marine; nuclear power generation; mining; and infrastructure focusing on quality, maintenance, resource management, production, finance, and HSE.Prior to his move to Nevada Clean Magnesium he held the position of "Director, Project Management - Americas" at Advisian, a global engineering, sciences and business consulting company.

At Advisian, Mr. Fraser provided leadership and deployment of resources in the areas of project governance and project management acumen for the portfolio of approximately 1,000 active projects. This role included: training, process improvement, mentoring, review & monitoring of project management activities, and direct project involvement in support of overall business objectives. His range of project management acumen includes topics such as: health, safety and environment (HSE), client satisfaction, risk management, change management, scheduling, cost estimating, procurement, earned value management, and commercial performance.  Mr. Fraser holds a Professional Engineering designation registered with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).

Dennis Mee – Chief Financial Officer & Director

Dennis Mee has over 35 years' experience as a senior financial and operational executive with a variety of industries and is currently President of Part Time CFO Inc, providing companies finance/accounting, strategic planning and other operational management expertise targeting smaller companies or those in a startup mode that need assistance developing strategies, business plans, budgeting or in raising capital.

Mr. Mee's previous business experience includes acting as the Chief Financial or Operational Officer for a variety of small to mid-size companies in the Telecommunication, Service and Distribution Industries. Mr. Mee has gained valuable experience on both sides of the business cycle, having led teams through major downsizings and restructurings along with start-ups. Mr. Mee received his Bachelor of Commerce from Carleton University in Ottawa and his C.A. while at K.P.M.G in Toronto. He is a member of both the BC and Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Lisa Maxwell – V.P. Corporate Affairs & Corporate Secretary
Ms. Maxwell joined Nevada Clean Magnesium in 2013 as Corporate Secretary, bringing the Company over 18 years’ experience working in close collaboration with the senior leadership of both private and public companies.  She also serves as President and CEO of Sequoia Corporate Services, Inc., a management consulting business she founded in 2010 to educate, assist and support clients with regulatory compliance and corporate governance affairs.  Ms. Maxwell studied International Business Administration at Athabasca University, as well as Website Design and Management at the University of Victoria in Canada.

James Sever, P.Eng. – Director

Prior to his appointment as President of Nevada Clean, Mr. Sever was President of Alpha Omega Engineering, Inc. of Spokane, Washington providing internal consultation on light metals, production and use; A profession engineer with a masters in metallurgical engineering and an MBA, He has over 40 years’ experience in non-ferrous metals, chemical, industrial and operational management.   Previously, he was employed for ten years by Alcoa and Northwest Alloys, Inc. as Technical Operations Manager for the Addy Magnesium plant located near Spokane.


Michael Pickholz - Director
Mr. Pickholz is a mechanical engineer with over 30 years of experience and currently Head of Aftermarket and Innovation Products division for an international automotive lighting manufacturer. His expertise extends into developing designs for auto parts manufacturers utilizing the Thixomolding process which is a strong asset to the company for the development of granulation methods.
He holds several patents in advanced automotive LED Illumination, vehicle structural applications and electric vehicle drive train systems, with experience specializing in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), automated Vehicle technologies, product development, program management, domestic and international automotive business development. Most notably, he led the production application of magnesium Thixoformed lamp housings/heat sinks and exposed external silicone optic technologies for automotive exterior LED lighting and won the FORD Next Challenge: "Lightweighting" lighting competition.

Stephen Thorlakson – Director

Mr. Thorlakson brings Nevada Clean a wealth of experience in the construction project management and logistics industry, as well as extensive financial and business management expertise, having worked more than three decades within the financial services industry. As founder and President of the Canadian consulting firm Thorlakson Management Ltd., he has provided guidance, direction and hands-on management of major industrial and business development projects for clients that have included Canadian Silica Industries, LaPrairie Works, Inc. and Eh-Cho Dene Enterprises. From 2006 through 2010, he served as General Manager of Surerus Pipeline, Inc., where he was responsible for policy research, development and implementation, as well as project estimating and project management, for the industrial pipeline company that has installed over 7000 km of pipe through some of Canada’s toughest terrain since its founding in 1969. From 1980 until 2006, Mr. Thorlakson was a self-employed chartered financial planner in Fort St. John, British Columbia, a city for which he served as Mayor from 1990 through 2005 and Alderman from 1986 through 1990. He began his professional career working at Toronto Dominion Bank as Branch Manager and Senior Assistant Manager of Commercial Credit.

Jeff Wilson, Ph.D., P.Geo. – Director

Dr. Wilson has worked in mineral exploration, consulting and market regulation for over 20 years. He has also worked as an independent consultant since 2013. Previous to this, he worked for four years as Director of Geology at Tetra Tech WEI, Inc., a leading provider of consulting, engineering and technical services focused on the worldwide water, environmental, energy, infrastructure and natural resource industries. From 2006 until joining Tetra Tech, Dr. Wilson worked as a Listings Manager at the TSX Venture Exchange, where he was responsible for reviewing technical and financial submissions by publicly traded resource companies. In addition, he has worked as a Project Geologist at Placer Dome Inc., Project Geologist for Fronteer Development Group, Senior Structural Geologist for AngloGold Ashanti in Brazil and Senior Geologist at Newcrest Mining in Indonesia.

Robert “Bob” Brown – Director

Mr. Brown brings with him over 50 years of industry experience in both ferrous and non-ferrous materials that includes twenty years in the technical management areas of light metal foundries and reduction plants.  He has consulted to major international magnesium companies to assist in evaluation, planning, design, marketing and trouble-shooting new operations.   Mr. Brown has held various positions throughout the many stages and departments of magnesium production and operations.


Frank Halliday Socioeconomic, Environmental and Permitting Director & Director
Mr. Halliday has been a private consultant located in Surrey, British Columbia with over 20 years of specialized experience spearheading the acquisition of environmental regulatory approvals and social licenses required to develop and operate major projects. This includes leading multiple environmental assessment processes for mining proponents (such as sucessfully permitting a 23,000 tonne per day open pit mine within a 26 month period) and managing large scale upstream oil & gas projects.

Mr. Halliday holds a Masters degree in Environment and Management and recently held the title of "Social, Environmental and Regulatory Approvals Manager" with Teck Resources. In this role, he facilitated collaboration with communities of interest as well as managed environmental baseline data acquisition, environmental impact assessments, drafting of regulatory applications, and receipt of permits for major mining projects.
